Kick off with Crown

Diageo's groundbreaking partnership with the NFL, 'Kick Off with Crown Royal'. 

Part of a season-long community initiative to inspire generosity towards hospitality

personnel who make Game Day great.

Lovesong Films was tasked to create an initiative packed :90 spot to capture the spirit

of "Game Day".  One long consecutive story of Football Fans getting ready for kick

off. A spot Football Fans across the county could relate and connect to. All shot on

35 mm film. From the beginning the Director aspired to shooting the "Copa Shot"

from Goodfellas; including all the firey whip pans. I needed to find locations to

support that. Thirty five years in and I am still inspired to give the Director the

prefect canvas in which to build their vision. We couldn't film in all the cities we

were representing. So one city, Baltimore, was chosen to cover for seven. 

I was tasked to find:

5 Dive Bars that represented (Baltimore, New Orleans, Minnesota, Jacksonville & Green Bay) that had an immediate vibe. 

A location to create a New Orleans Buyou Craw Fish Boil.

The spot also featured 3 main characters as we follow them through their own personal Game Day routines.

Three Locations for the Eagles Fan:

Nail Salon- where rhinestones are common place. Neighborhood Italian Market- an aromatic shop with Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese on the counter and shelves stocked with jars of imported capers, olive oils and white beans. Our Fan's Home- A kitchen which still is very reminiscent of Carela Sopranos, decked out in its 1990s pickle pine & hunter green glory. (Found as is the Art Department didn't change or add a thing) BBQ Pit Masters grilling at their Texas Roadhouse. Somewhere like Lockhart, Texas that only the locals know.

A bar that NFL Hall of Famer Ed Reed would call his own when returning to the city that made him a Legend.

It took 4 jam packed days, 100+ crew and many company moves including driving shots with the U-Crane to create the 90 second spot.
